Projects

Through projects and partnerships, the GEBIOM GROUP brings its digital biomechanical solutions directly into the B2B market. Together with our partners, we turn ideas and technologies into practical applications with measurable added value.

Projects That Drive Innovation

Innovation happens where technology meets real-world challenges. Together with companies, clinics, research institutions, sports organisations and industry partners, the GEBIOM GROUP develops digital solutions for biomechanical applications. Our projects show how scientific insights, precise measurement data and innovative technologies can be transformed into practical products and processes. From the initial idea to successful implementation.

Orthopaedic Technology

Patented TPU Solution for Diabetic Foot Care

Together with Holterhues Orthopaedic, the GEBIOM GROUP has developed an innovative, patented orthopaedic insole made from 3D-printed TPU. The patient-specific solution is individually adapted to the anatomy and wound situation and has been specially designed for the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome with ulcerations. The aim is to ensure effective pressure relief and optimised wound care. The development was carried out in close cooperation with medical partners, including Christiane Krankenhaus Quakenbrück, which contributed its many years of experience in the treatment of patients with diabetic foot syndrome. By combining biomechanical analysis, plantar pressure measurement, CAD-based design and additive manufacturing using TPU, an individually manufactured dressing component is created that is precisely tailored to the needs of each patient. The project demonstrates how interdisciplinary collaboration within the GEBIOM GROUP opens up new opportunities in digital medical technology and in the treatment of chronic wounds.

Digital Analysis for Custom-Fit Safety Footwear and Individual Insoles

Together with safety footwear manufacturer ELTEN, GEBIOM is developing a digital solution for the data-driven selection of safety footwear, with the option of integrating customised orthopaedic components. A cloud-based software platform captures and analyses 3D foot measurement data and enables precise shoe matching. The same measurement data can also be used for the digital design of custom-made orthopaedic insoles. Through integrated interfaces, individual insoles can be planned efficiently and, for example, produced using 3D printing. By connecting to existing systems, 3D foot data, a shoe-specific algorithm for precise matching and digital manufacturing are combined into one continuous workflow. From measurement to individual care.

Digital Pressure Measurement: Sensors, App and Biomechanical Analysis

Together with technology company gebioMized, the GEBIOM GROUP is developing innovative digital solutions for data-driven bike fitting. The combination of highly precise sensor technology, intelligent app technology and biomechanical pressure measurement makes it possible to record and analyse loads on the bicycle objectively and optimise them systematically.
Based on biomechanical research, measurement data is validated and transferred into expertise for cyclists worldwide. Professional teams, specialist retailers and professional bike fitters use this data to precisely determine individual riding positions and develop equipment ergonomically. Continuous further development – for greater comfort, efficiency and performance on the bike.

Measure2Print: I21 Project – From Bikefitting to a Personalised Bicycle Saddle

In cooperation with Italian bicycle sports brand fi'zi:k, the GEBIOM GROUP developed a Measure2Print workflow as part of the I21 project for personalised bicycle saddles. The starting point is the seat pressure measurement carried out by specialist retailers using gebioMized measurement technology. Pressure distribution and movement patterns of the rider are analysed. The biomechanical data obtained is evaluated digitally and automatically translated into an individual saddle design. Based on this, a personalised bicycle saddle is created and manufactured by fi'zi:k using additive manufacturing and 3D printing. The project enables scalable customisation of bicycle components in batch size 1 – from measurement to the finished product.

Developing Performance Through Data: Athletic Check in Competitive Sports

As a partner of the biomechanical Athletic Check analysis, GEBIOM works together with USC Münster to investigate biomechanical movement and loading patterns in competitive sports. Using precise pressure measurements and movement analyses, individual pressure and movement data is captured and evaluated. The focus is not solely on performance enhancement through equipment, but above all on data-driven analysis of training and movement recommendations. The aim is to optimise training management, improve stability and support sustainable injury prevention in competitive sports.

Ankle ReLoad – Intelligent Monitoring of Ankle Loading

GEBIOM is a project partner in the international research project Ankle ReLoad, funded as part of the Interreg Programme Germany–Netherlands. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative sensor-based system for measuring and analysing ankle loading during rehabilitation after ankle injuries. By combining biomechanical pressure measurement with machine learning methods, joint loading is measured in real time and analysed in everyday life. GEBIOM contributes its expertise in biomechanical measurement technology, pressure measurement and data analysis to the development and validation of the system.
